Traffic stop leads to seizure of nearly 500 grams of cannabis

During a traffic stop last weekend in Clarence-Rockland last weekend, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers seized a large quantity of cannabis and other narcotics.

According to the OPP on the social media platform X, officers pulled over a driver with expired license plates at nearly 11 a.m. on March 29, only to find nearly 500 grams of cannabis and a smaller quantity of other drugs including hydromorphone pills and tablets and more than four grams of suspected crack cocaine.

According to the post, the driver was arrested and is facing multiple of charges under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and the Highway Traffic Act.

“Remember, licence plates will not renew automatically if there is no valid insurance or outstanding unpaid fines,” OPP said in its post.
