{"id":9184,"date":"2021-06-09T13:32:51","date_gmt":"2021-06-09T13:32:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/editionap.ca\/2021\/06\/09\/brewery-toasts-community-with-new-beer\/"},"modified":"2026-02-17T20:55:44","modified_gmt":"2026-02-17T19:55:44","slug":"brewery-toasts-community-with-new-beer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/visionrockland.ca\/en\/affaires\/brewery-toasts-community-with-new-beer\/","title":{"rendered":"Brewery toasts community with new beer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cSticking to the German theme of the brewery,\u201d stated Eric Mainville, co-owner of Brauwerk Hoffman, \u201cwe decided to pay homage to some of Clarence-Rockland\u2019s rich history.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Mainville and the other co-owners of the brewery announced the release of Rock Lite, a light beer with a low 3.5 per cent alcohol content, as \u201ca thank-you to the Rockland community for their continued support\u201d since the brewery began operations in November 2020.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Mainville explained how a traditional German light beer seemed a suitable tribute to the area\u2019s heritage.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Rockland we know today started to take shape with the development of the L\u2019Orignal-Bytown Road in 1840,\u201d he stated. \u201cLocal farmers worked hard to clear the wooded area to cultivate this beautiful land. William C. Edwards, a young entrepreneur in the timber industry, named the area for the rocky nature of its landscape. Liechtbier, or \u2018light beer\u2019, are traditional beers used as drinks for labourers in fields and factories because of their low alcohol content.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Louis-XVI Design, a local company, assisted with the artwork concept for the Rock Lite can.
