Enbridge Gas representative Rick Gazda presented Mayor Yves Laviolette and Deputy Fire Chief St\u00e9phane Barbarie with a cheque for $5000 from the program.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDefinitely any money helps,\u201d said Mayor Laviolette.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are happy to get this generous donation,\u201d said Deputy Fire Chief Barbarie.<\/p>\n<p>The Safe Community Project Assistance program provides money to community fire departments to help supplement their training program needs for new and veteran firefighters. The money that Alfred-Plantagenet Township Fire Department received will go towards the purchase of training manuals to help its members better prepare for both usual and unusual situations they may encounter during a call-out.
