Heading into another double-header weekend, the Nats were looking to rebound after a 7-3 loss to Smith Falls a week before. Scoring an early short-handed goal Kyle Leonard put the Nats in the lead against the Wolves with a sixth-minute goal in the first period.<\/p>\n
Though Renfrew would respond with one of their own, Guillaume Labre helped the Nats keep the lead heading into the second, scoring his third goal of the season. Captain Yanic Cr\u00eate would extend the lead early in the second period, giving the Nats a little extra space, to allow for a power-play goal from the Wolves, making it 3-2 for the Nats.<\/p>\n
While the first and second periods saw the Nats take 22 shots on goals compared to Renfrew\u2019s 13, the Nats took a defensive position, absorbing 14 shots on goal from the Wolves and doling out just nine of their own. Despite the pressure the Nats held on to give them their 15th<\/sup> win of season.<\/p>\n However, the following day the table would tilt in Renfrew\u2019s favour as the teams faced off again on the Wolves\u2019 home ice.<\/p>\n The Wolves held on to a 3-0 lead for the first two periods of the game, despite several penalties against them.
