{"id":25665,"date":"2022-10-13T15:37:46","date_gmt":"2022-10-13T15:37:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/editionap.ca\/?p=25665"},"modified":"2026-02-17T20:53:27","modified_gmt":"2026-02-17T19:53:27","slug":"community-market-bringing-bourget-to-the-trails","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/visionrockland.ca\/en\/societe\/community-market-bringing-bourget-to-the-trails\/","title":{"rendered":"Community market bringing Bourget to the Trails"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As a newcomer to the community, Skarecky-Colwell saw an opportunity to immediately get herself involved and give something back to her new home.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI moved here on the day of the wind storm, so I was able to meet my neighbours pretty quickly,\u201d said Skarecky-Colwell. \u201cBut meeting others from the community took a little more time. I figured this might be a fun activity to be able to bring people together and support local businesses and community organizations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A long-time resident of Ottawa, Skarecky-Colwell noticed not many people venture east from the city with most events taking place to Ottawa\u2019s west. Though a one-off event for now, she hopes to inspire more events like it to draw people in and introduce them to what Bourget and the rest of Clarence-Rockland have to offer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBringing people out this way is kind of the hope, as well,\u201d said Skarecky Colwell.<\/p>\n<p>The market will take place on October 15 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and include live music performed at the Bourget pavilion, vendors, community organizations and children\u2019s activities.<\/p>\n<p>Participating in the event are the Clarence-Rockland Public Library, Penny Lane Farm Sanctuary, Rockland Youth Hub, various local vendors and musical acts Mercury Vice, Cyprus R.O., Tiffanypop and Erica Brighthill.
