The developers celebrated the groundbreaking of the project on Thursday, Nov. 13, signaling that construction is set to begin on the new development.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat we are providing is something different, something unique and a place where people can feel comfortable living in and can call home,\u201d said Kwesi Bourne a resident of Rockland and part of the developer team. \u201cIt has been quite the journey to get to this point, and I just want to thank everyone that has been involved.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Chateau 632 will feature 20 rental units, ranging from different types to meet peoples\u2019 needs. The facility itself will have an elevator for its patrons, along with an indoor gym, parking, all inclusive rent, and high-end appliances. It is centrally located on Laurier Street, in walking distance to many restaurants, shops and other amenities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am so excited to see this project come to life,\u201d said Neel Chadha, who is business partners with Bourne on the Chateau 632 project. \u201cI have no doubt that the building we are creating is going to be a place for mainly seniors to call home for many, many years to come and provide a different type of housing development here in Rockland.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Clarence-Rockland Mayor Mario Zanth thanked the project\u2019s team for investing in the city of Clarence-Rockland.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNot everyone can afford the $800,000 or $900,000 home being built, and not only are we in a housing crisis, but we are also in a people crisis because some people can\u2019t find a place to afford to live in,\u201d said Mayor Zanth. \u201cI love seeing these types of projects and this is exactly what our municipality needs.
