Stacey Laviolette hopes to bring her \u201cbillion-dollar idea\u201d to television sooner rather than later.<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Laviolette is the creator of My Friend Toothy, a series of books and other products designed to transform the chore of brushing and flossing teeth into an engaging activity for the whole family.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Her goal is to encourage children to develop healthy dental hygiene habits at home while learning how to prevent cavities.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Laviolette has been hands-on throughout the entire process, and her creative flair has shone through in making My Friend Toothy\u2122 a reality.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been pretty great to see how far we have come,\u201d said Laviolette. \u201cSeeing how far it has come, what we have done\u2014it\u2019s incredible. For me, once I set my mind on something, I focus on it. This is not only my idea, but it\u2019s also something that helps kids and their families. It\u2019s something they can do together to make brushing teeth fun.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Laviolette struggled to get her kids to brush their teeth, which inspired the idea for My Friend Toothy after a trip to the dentist with her children. Since then, she has launched books and other products designed to make brushing teeth a fun, informative, and educational experience for both kids and adults.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Laviolette said her daughter, Piper, developed tooth decay and required several dental surgeries.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSomething like tooth decay can really have an impact on a child\u2019s mental health, and it isn\u2019t easy on the parents when we feel helpless because we want to help our kids,\u201d she said.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Laviolette has applied to the Canadian television show Dragons\u2019 Den on numerous occasions and even made it to the audition round, where prospective products are showcased to producers.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

She was told to try again once her business idea reached a certain sales threshold in a calendar year\u2014a milestone that has now been achieved. Laviolette has reapplied to the show.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe reached our sales goal that they asked for (details not disclosed), and we have quite the following. More people know who we are, and we are even working with several dental clinics to share My Friend Toothy products,\u201d she said enthusiastically.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Dragons\u2019 Den team usually sends out emails in April, and if all goes well, Laviolette could secure a television spot shortly after.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cHere\u2019s hoping! We feel good this time around,\u201d she said. \u201cI\u2019m not really a patient person, but this is a chance to get support from experts who can really help us build our brand.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
