With a growing family and a demanding job as acting chief administrator for Hawkesbury, Cardarelli thought it best to allow another resident to step up to the plate, but a changing economy, a hack, a devastating windstorm and skyrocketing inflation rates pushed Cardarelli to reconsider.

“I learned a lot and I think it’s appropriate to have people on council with experience to continue moving forward,” said Cardarelli, particularly due to this municipality’s current asset management plan and the future of its infrastructure.

Having lived in Clarence-Rockland his entire life, including Ward 4, Cardarelli saw the ward was sitting empty and made the decision to run and offer strong representation across the board. For Cardarelli, while representing each ward is important, the council works to improve the municipality for each resident, no matter which ward they live in.

“People reach out to whoever is willing to listen,” said Cardarelli. “I believe I’ve been that voice for a lot of people in Clarence-Rockland.”

He is focused on ensuring client services are efficient and best serve residents with an eye towards promoting economic development. Cardarelli wants to look at how the city can attract new businesses, while allowing local businesses to grow.

“I need to look at how I can better serve the citizens of Ward 4, but always keeping in mind what is best for the entirety of Clarence-Rockland when we make decisions,” said Cardarelli.
