Quebec man charged with murder of Robert Prevost

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) announced that a 51-year-old Quebec man has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of a Rockland man whose body was found in the Ottawa River one year ago.

Robert Prevost, 63, was last seen at his home on Laurier Street in Clarence-Rockland in early February 2025 and was reported missing in early March. On May 17, 2025, his body was pulled from the Ottawa River offshore from Dallaire Street. Following a postmortem, the OPP deemed his death a homicide.

On June 4, 2026, the OPP arrested Luc Decarie, 51, of St-Gabriel-de-Brandon, Quebec, who is charged with first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and indignity to a body.
