OPP officers seize taser, drugs during traffic stop in Clarence-Rockland

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers arrested an individual who was wanted on an outstanding warrant during a traffic stop in Clarence-Rockland earlier this week.

At roughly 3:45 a.m. on Tuesday, May 26, officers with the Rockland Detachment of the OPP conducted a traffic stop after a driver was stopped for speeding on County Road 17. The passenger of the vehicle was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant and was arrested without incident. Officers searched the vehicle and seized $795 in Canadian currency, a taser, which has been classified as a prohibited weapon, approximately 17 grams of cocaine and eight grams of crack cocaine, 24 pills off Dilaudid (Hydromorphone) and nine TEC (Codeine) pills.

One female has been charged with Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking and Possession of a prohibited weapon. The driver was charged with speeding.
