OPP arrest two in home invasion

Russell County OPP arrested two people in connection with a home invasion robbery May 4. Just before 8:15 p.m., officers from Rockland responded to a call on Laurier Street in Rockland, where the homeowner reported that two men dressed in police gear entered the home claiming to be police officers.

One of the men was arrested soon after police arrived, and the second was arrested the next day on May 5. Both remain in custody pending the ongoing investigation, but the OPP do not believe this to be a random incident and that there is no risk to public safety.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Russell OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or at www.ontariocrimestoppers.ca
