Fire breaks out at local campground

A fire broke out on Tuesday, May 19 and damaged several trailers at Mapleview Campground in Clarence Creek.

According to reports, the fire had spread to a trailer, and high winds pushed the flames into several other mobile homes. No injuries have been reported

Firefighters were able to contain the blaze to a central area, but at least six to 10 mobile homes were destroyed

The causes remain unknown. The fire occurred at the beginning of the camping season, forcing some campers to leave the area.
