Clarence-Rockland man killed in collision

A 21-year-old male driver from Clarence-Rockland was killed in a single-vehicle rollover crash on Highway 401 near Cornwall on Sunday, July 19.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the scene just before 3:30 a.m. on Highway 401.

The vehicle was travelling eastbound in South Glengarry (just east of Cornwall) when it rolled over into the centre median. The 21-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Two passengers sustained minor injuries and were transported to the hospital.

The highway was initially closed in both directions between Boundary Road and County Road 27 for a lengthy collision investigation but has since completely reopened.

The Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry (SD&G) OPP detachment is leading the investigation. Police are requesting anyone who may have dashcam footage or relevant information regarding the incident to contact the SD&G OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
