A home-grown Rockland business is expanding its food items into the Ottawa area.
Junior & The Kid, owned by local resident Chris Villeneuve, is bringing fresh and bold flavours to Ottawa Titans baseball games when the Titans’ new baseball season kicks off in May.
“This is really cool, the 15-year-old me is jumping up and down,” said Villeneuve, who is an avid baseball fan and used to play the sport. “This is an exciting moment.”
The Ottawa Titans Baseball Club announced new food options that are going to be available for the upcoming season featuring Junior & The Kid and a host of new offerings.
“Titans fans deserve an experience that matches the energy in the ballpark,” said Martin Boyce, General Manager of the Ottawa Titans. “We’ve made improvements in the Food & Beverage Department to offer even better-quality items and especially faster service.”
Junior & The Kid has already had the experience serving baseball fans at Titans games, but in a food truck. Now, Villeneuve said, he will have his own spot, and a new and equally committed staff that is ready for the game day rush.
“We have done work with them before, so they reached out to us and asked us if we were interested in having a spot in the stadium, “said Villeneuve. “It was a no brainer. The Titans team has been great to us, and it just seemed like a natural fit.”
Villeneuve said he signed a three-year agreement with the baseball club, which also comes with some sponsorship opportunities. He will even have a chance to host charities and other organizations in his own box.
“They (the Titans) are big on community, and giving back is important to me and always has,” he added.
