Police charge Rockland resident with sexual assault

 The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a 22-year-old Rockland resident after a sexual assault incident last month.  

OPP said in a release said the incident took place at a park in Rockland on Thursday, Sept. 26. According to police, the victim did not know the suspect and was not injured. 

Harry Tchimda II Mbete, 22, from Rockland has been charged with sexual assault under the Criminal Code and was held for a bail hearing.  

Police are encouraging anyone with any information regarding this investigation to contact the Russell County OPP at 613-443-4499 or the toll free at 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
