Red hot Rockland Nationals win 17th game, clinch playoff berth

With two more wins last week against the Cornwall Colts and the Navan Grads, the scorching-hot Rockland Nationals have not lost a game since Dec. 8, 2024, when they suffered a 4-0 defeat against the Carleton Place Canadians. 

The Nats are the first team in the league to clinch a postseason berth. 

                                                                                                        Nine-goal outburst in Cornwall 

Rockland hit the road on Thursday, Feb. 6, traveling to Cornwall to take on the Colts. Anthony Hall scored four goals and added two assists to lead the visiting squad to a convincing 9-2 win. Rémi Gagné, Tristan Poor, Joshua Penney, Nathan Landriault, and Loïc Gosselin also found the back of the net for the Nats. 

Rockland outshot their opponents 45-21 and struck twice on the power play. For his efforts, Hall was named the game’s first star. 

                                                                                                             Home win versus Navan 

The Nats welcomed the Navan Grads on Friday, Feb. 7. Anthony Hall, coming off a four-goal performance the previous night in Cornwall, scored again—his team-leading 29th goal of the 2024-2025 Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL) season. 

Raphaël Tellier, Gabriel Le Houillier, Rémi Gagné, Nathan Landriault, and Alex Kelloway also scored for Rockland. With the win, the Nats extended their winning streak to 17 games. 

                                                                                                              Nepean comes to town 

Rockland hopes to make it 18 straight wins when the team hosts the Nepean Raiders on Valentine’s Day. 

Going into the matchup, the Nats sit atop the CCHL standings with 77 points. They hold an 18-point lead over Navan for first place in the Yzerman Division, while the Carleton Place Canadians lead the Robinson Division with 58 points. 

Rockland has won 38 of their 44 games and, as of press time, has scored a league-leading 199 goals while allowing a league-low 101 goals.
